Keep her away from the television! It's bad for brain development! Instead, buy child size brooms, mops, and housekeeping tools so she can help clean. Two year olds love squirt bottles. Set up a sink full of soapy water (or get a water table for outside). She can wash dishes, dolls, clothes...hours of fun. Have her wash the vegis for dinner. Have her help in the garden (watering plants, digging, how many worms can you find?, planting seeds) She can make a nature collage with things she finds outdoors. She can match colors, pictures, the socks in the laundry. Play hide and seek. Playdough, paint, draw, tracing. Make bubbles! Listen to music and dance. Play freeze dance! Get magnets (fun!) Get a doll house (Costco has a great one). Follow the leader! Legos! Anything that develops independence, concentration, coordination, and self-esteem! Many poo poo the idea of games and movies. Don't. Many videos are allllll about education now, like Blues Clues and Dora. Keep a bunch on hand for your low-energy times. Check and see if you library loans movies for free, ours does! Also, there are tons of educational games for kids on the pc..from Jumpstart Toddler (sooo perfect as a first game, teaches to move the mouse etc!) to Blues Clues, Sesame Street etc! Lastly, make sure your house is as safe as it can be so you don't need to be right on top of her all the time. Monitor her of course, but you know what I mean. And consider going to some yard sales and getting a plethora of toys, then rotate her toys to keep them fresh!

When my boys were small I would take fruit loops and put a few of them in a plastic container and cut little squares and triangles and circles in the plastic. The trick is to only make a few openings large enough for the fruit loops or what ever your little one likes and is allowed to eat to come out of. Also make sure all the edges that you cut are smoothed out and make sure the container is free of any of the plastic cuttings or dust from smoothing them out then fill it with the treat. This keeps them busy and also teaches them patients and shapes.

My daughter has this little leap frog toy it's magnetic and comes with the letters of the alphabet, and once you but the letter in it tells you the letter and sounds it makes. It also says the whole alphabet it works well with mine and she learned pretty quick uses it.

Give her beginner reading books, educational toys, like the kind of thing where you have a bucket of plastic frogs, or maybe press buttons with letters on them to be heard out loud.

There should be some childrens show on tv that may interest her. Try flipping channels and see what she likes.
