If he's deciding what you watch on TV at 4 months, just imagine what he'll have you doing at 16 years. You're the Mom. Find some way to occupy his attention other then TV. If he becomes addicted to TV he'll wind up a fat, out of shape couch potato.

my son loved those baby einstien video's at a young age (we don't have cable so no cartoons, just videos) i would let him watch 10 or 15 minutes at a time while i got dinner started, i didn't want to over do it since it is not recommended that babies under 2 watch tv. i think it's fine though just as long as it's non-violent, educational and for very short periods of time. my son would completely zone out to the video's...it was so funny to watch him.

Iv never had a kid, but I wouldnt let my kid watch the TV all of the time, when i was small i watched TV once a while. You should have kids doing active things, since its only a baby i would surround it with toys, better have your kid obsessed with toys than TV.
possibly?

as people have said before its the colors and movements! babies love this stuff but its not good....they will learn to depend on the tv rather then other things. you should turn the tv off and play with him. having time to play with your child is the best....playing with a toy...goofing off...singing...or read is the best thing to do. this give you lots of time for bonding! you should keep time to bond with you baby..this is the most important for a baby is bonding with mom/dad :)

Its just the movement and the colors that make him go into aww... dont let him watch that much tv though, you could play a little light music in the back ground nothing to loud .. and put colorful toys that make sounds and light up infront of him if he is laying on his belly well yet.

For some kids yes and for some kids no. my daughter was this way and my son wasn't. My daughter is now 10 and it has been real hard to break her from tv so try other things like reading fun books and toys with lights and sounds. My son is 4 and looooves to read...(he thinks he can read)!

I think you should turn off the tv and sing him a song and make silly faces. All of the colors and shapes on tv are interesting to him. Why not buy one of the mirrors for babies?

Well considering a 4 month old can't turn the tv on by himself...why don't u just NOT turn the tv on and have him play with other stuff?

Your kid watches because you let him/her.

The average American child watches three to four hours a day, despite recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics that children should watch no more than an hour or two a day, and that children under 2 should watch no television at all.

I bet your 4 month old would forget the TV if you are interacting with him. Playing with their mom/dad is their absolute favorite. Break the habit with the TV before it's too late.

well i advise that you spend more quality time with him because he might grow to depend on tv if this keeps happening. Set limits for tv time and only let him watch educational televison. Hopefully this advice may help you.
