My son continues to drool at 22 months. His first dental visit at 18 months, the dentisit said his molars were coming in but he continues to drool. Is this a concern? Does anyone know?

He's perfectly fine. Don't worry and listen to his dentist. He probably has teeth coming in.

On the other hand, I wouldn't take him anywhere near Santee, California because it is against the law to spit or leave anything with your DNA in it on any public sidewalk. Then your biggest worry won't have anything to do with drooling. lol. Otherwise? He's fine. Check back in a couple of years if it's still happening. Then he may have a problem with his salivary glands which is correctable with minor surgery. Good luck:)

as long as everything else is normal, teaching your kid to gulp saliva can help (something which we do automatically all the time), my son used to put his hand in his mouth when he was teething and drool all over. I would take his hand off and ask him to gulp in the saliva (sometimes they might forget)as long as it's not all the time don't worry too much and just wipe him clean.

My son has horrible allergies and drooled until we got that under control. He couldn't breathe through his nose so he had to breathe through his mouth. Dr. put him on Zyrtec and Nasonex and that helped the allergies.
