First thing to do is RELAX. BREATHE.

I liked to read some fun books on "potty" there are a lot out there nowadays, even at the library.Take a break for a week without any reference to the potty. The tension and pressure may be causing him to be scared and nervous about the whole thing. Making the potty room a safe and peaceful place is a good idea. Bring in somethings that are pleasing and relaxing for him, I even used happy music for one of my sons. No one thing is going to work like magic, I am sure you know this very well by now. After a week bring back the "potty seat". The attitude of " no big deal" if you go or not, was an approach that worked best for mine. Then if and when they do a "potty" praise and happy words are encouraging to them. I know the days seem to drag out and it is a hassle not to have them "trained" but this will pass. I can quarantee that he will not want to go in his pants in Kindergarden!

Give him some time. Not all kids are potty trained at the same rate, and if you push him both of you will get frustrated. Some kids are afraid of the flushing sound. Some are afraid of the potties that fit on the adult seat and a small one that sits on the floor.

Try again in a couple of weeks or a month. You could try reading him a story while he sits on the potty. Just remember that it's not as important when he starts using it as keeping you both stress free. Chances are, by summer you will see progress if you don't make too big a deal out of it now.

Make it fun! Give him a book to look at while he is on the potty or put a few cheerio's in the potty and let him take aim! Most boys enjoy trying to pee on the cheerio's, and they will not stop up your toilet. Also it helps to let them pick out their underwear, usually some with the cartoon characters. Let them pick out their favorite and tell them not to potty on them. Be sure you give alot a praise once he does start going like a big boy. Good Luck!

Maybe your son is just not ready to be potty trained.... I know this sounds crazy ,but most Doctors will tell you not to worry about this issue until your child is 5 yrs old!!!

However,,,every child is different and I wouldnt rack my brains over it just yet.... Maybe you should take a break from the whole potty training business for a month or two,,,,then try again.... Dont give up,,, just keep giving your child lots of positive reassurance!!!! And,,,rewards do help......Good luck to ya....

too lots tension could make the area worse. it is now common for him to no longer be waiting at his age. the main suitable element to do is in simple terms save on taking him to the potty in many cases and supply him rewards like stickers whilst he is going. If he continues to be dry for a collectively as supply him yet another sticky label and confirm you tell him how proud you're of him. I did this with my son and at some point it in simple terms clicked for him. Boys do take longer than females. My daughter isn't even 3 yet and particularly much thoroughly potty experienced yet my son replaced right into a diverse tale. all your quickly-to-be nephew desires is staying power and documents. i wish his mom is greater advantageous now and can positioned the in the affection and time that he desires.

i don't have kids but i do have a nephew. a few things i noticed were leaving the potty out, eventually he will just start sitting on it, not necessarily to pee but just getting used to it. also, we all used to let him in the bathroom with us(sounds strange i know, i kept covered as best i could, lol.), let him flush the toilet etc., bring him in the bathroom to change him so he knows what the room is "for." a friend of mine had a girl and she just took off the diapers, lots of clothing changes but eventually she put 2 and 2 together. good luck

you could:

1. convince him with sweets

2. tell him that if he does you will give him his favorite dinner or dessert

3. tell him to ask his friends if they use the potty

4. make him use pull-ups

4. (could be embarassing) go into the bathroom and use the bathroom in front of him to show him that evil toilet monsters wont come out to get him

5. use a kiddie potty

6. buy him a new toy the first time he goes into the potty

Trick him into going into the bathroom, or tell him that the boogey man will eat him if he doesnt.
