It was a triple A battery and my wife is worrying me sick about it but I told her there is nothing to worry about. Should we worry?

Batteries are sealed and cannot hurt you. Unless of course it was leaking acid or he swallowed the battery.

If the battery is broken, yes take him to the hospital. If the battery is whole and not leaking, you have nothing to worry about. If the boy swallowed it whole, why are you asking us now!? Get him to the hospital!!!
Generally, babies, toddlers, and little kids put things in their mouths. It's called pica and it's something to watch out for. Some kids just won't put things in their mouths at all, unless it's food or medicine.

I would say as long as it wasn't swallowed he should be ok. If the battery was leaking acid get him to the er right away. You could try calling the posion control center to see if they could tell you anything.

Don't worry unless he ate it. If he just stuck it in there, the worst thing that could happen is that he got a slight electrical jolt (but hardly any, a AAA battery is only 1.5 volts).

YES!! Take him to the emergency room quick! The acid in the batteries could leak out and it could be fatal. How in the world did he put it in his mouth in the first place?

did he swallow it, if he did than call 911 it could kill him. If it was in his mouth and you made him spit it out...look for signs of chemical burns inside and around his mouth...if there are none, watch him closely for signs of illness. but otherwise if he didnt swallow it and has no burning or other effects you should be safe
