My son just turned one and has basically lost interest in baby food. What all kinds of foods do your one year olds eat? How much do they eat at each meal? And how much milk do they drink? Thanks.

730am--cup of oatmeal mixed with fruit with 4 ounce bottle of milk

830am--biscuit and gravy with 4 ounce bottle of milk

930am-handful of cheerios and juice

12pm--whatever we have for lunch. today it was sweet potatoes and turkey and he will have a handful of veggie bites and 5 ounce bottle

2pm--cup of applesauce with handful of cheerios and cup of juice

4pm-whatever we have for dinner and a handful of veggie bites and 4-5 ounce bottle

6pm-another snack of some sort and cup of juice

8pm-another snack and 4 ounce bottle then bedtime

Since my son turned 1 (he's now 15 months) he pretty much eats what we eat from fruit to veggies and meat. When it come to milk, he is lucky to drink 100 mls a day (full cream milk) and he eats the same amount of what my 3 year old eats now. My other son at the age of 1 (who's now 3) ate what we ate as well, but not to the extent my younger one eats, but he was still on 4 bottles of milk a day. So it just goes to show every childs appatie is different.

16oz of whole milk per day is the average recommendation.

My son is 15 months old & he's been eating pretty much the same thing we eat for months. How much he eats at a time varies (teething is a factor for him). Most of the time he eats very well, even more than his 4 year old brother eats. Do be careful that he's not getting too much milk, that can fill him up and then he won't eat as much as he should (I made that mistake w/ my oldest when he turned 1). He can eat most of what you eat, just make sure it's not a choking hazard and break it up in small pieces for him.

My son eats just about everything we eat, we just eliminate the foods which can be choking hazards and we still cut up his food but gradually we are making the pieces bigger so he learns to take bites. He eats a smaller portion but we also give him three meals and two snacks one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I will give him a cup of milk at each meal he usually doesn't finish it in one sitting. He always has a water cup to stay hydrated, no juice.

my daughter will be 2 next week. however, i remember her eating habits well, as i was always struggling with them. so, just for some perspective:

she NEVER ate baby food. she refused all of it. i tried every kind, every way, for 3 months, beginning when she was 6 months old.

at 7.5 months, she started eating cheerios. for a month, that was the only solid food she would eat. at around 9 months, she would occasionally eat toasted pita bread, pizza, and teething biscuits. she continued to refuse all other solids until 11.5 months, when one day, out of nowhere, she reached into my bowl of vegan chili (really) and started SHOVELING it into her mouth. from that point on i had to do a lot of experimentation to find foods she liked. when she turned one year, i tried milk, and she refused. over the next 2 months i tried every kind of milk: cow's, soy, almond, rice, hemp, plain, vanilla, chocolate. she will not drink it. so i started giving her the calcium and D fortified OJ cut with water. for many months, it was hard to get the right amount of fat into her, as her favorite foods were tomatoes and grapes. however, in the last few months, she became a really consistent eater. her favorite foods are mac and cheese, sesame tofu, waffles, grapes, tomatoes, oranges, all types of crackers, pizza, broccoli, carrots, black bean stew, and still that vegan chili. she will NOT eat yogurt, ice cream, or any other dairy, and cheese has to be cooked into or onto something else to make it into her mouth.

i should note: at 23 months, she has been sick only twice in her life: one fever for 24 hours and one mild cold.

Bradleigh eats pretty much anything her father and I eat. She seems to prefer extremely sharp cheddar cheese and very spicy sauces. We haven't had any problems yet.
