Did you get a whooping with a belt growing up?

Growing up did you get a whooping from your parents? I did? What about you? What did your parents whoop you with besides a belt?

I got a belt, got to pick my own switch, & sometimes just a good old fashioned hand spanking.

I deserved what I got 99% of the time and was always talked with afterwards and told what I did, I was never beat & NEVER felt unloved. I really gained from being spanked.

Do I think it works for every family or child? NO! absolutely not.

It worked for me as a child and Occasionally I give my son a spanking for things that he does that are just TOTALLY wrong & we all know he knows it.

But I'm not sure I'll be able to spank him using a belt or switch, my husband says he will be able to . . But all he has to do is run to daddy and give him a big hug and go mmm & daddy gives in lol

Spanked with a bare hand, or slapped across the face or on the arm, yanked places, etc. My mom's very repentant now, my dad too, since it caused permanent mental damage in some of my family. Even when it's not as bad with some kids that's enough. I've never seen them raise a hand against any of their grandkids and I know they wouldn't dare with mine.



My hubby got a wooden spoon until it broke... he's more against spanking than I am.

I only needed a hand to the a$$ a few times and I learned quickly not to mess with mom and dad. After that I just got "the look" and I behaved instantly. Lol

Belt, Wooden spoon, electric cords, shoes, wet towels, extension cord, twelve inch slim Jim's, tennis rackets, newspaper, socks with keys inside, had me put my hands up for a hour with a ten 5 pond dumb bells in each hand, my mom would put on her biggest rings to hit me

OOH! yes I sure did, my ghetto mom beat with spatulas and broke em on my butt, brushes, belts...lol. Been there done that and my lil butt used to be sooo red lol. I used to put sweats on and cover with my hands and get it even worse!! It wasnt funny at the time but it is now and I would never do that to my kids...At least I say that now theyre toddlers!!! =)

My father did and it wasn't always deserved. I got shoes, belts, wooden spoons, the dog leash, hands... got a pen once :s

Yes i was spanked.Sometime i got the belt.My mother never used anything other than hand and belt.I think it was well deserved and i believe in spankings.Not beatings.Some people take it to far

My parents never used anything but their hand to spank me and i can only remember 2 times that I was spanked. All my dad had to do was say our full names and we knew we were in trouble and better knock it off. I don't believe in using anything but your hand to spank a child. Anything else is child abuse.
